Philip Dryden, President of Evergreen Note Servicing, has been an AAPL member for two years. As a native of the Pacific Northwest, you might be able to find him boating while he’s not growing his business or getting bills in Congress.
What AAPL benefit do you MOST value?
The annual conference
Why did you become a member?
To network with others in the private lending industry and help grow our business of servicing private loans. Staying informed of industry trends is another key reason I joined AAPL.
What is your favorite AAPL memory?
Attending our first AAPL conference at Caesars Palace. It was an eye-opening event to meet private lenders and hear about developments in the industry.
Why did you decide to enter the private lending profession?
Our company (Evergreen Note Servicing) origins were in seller finance. We were founded in 1974, and I joined the team in 1985. Along the way, we have expanded to become the largest loan servicing agent on the West Coast for private loan servicing. We determined that expanding our services to private loan originators was the next evolution of our firm.
What are some accomplishments you are particularly proud of?
I am particularly proud to have a bill in congress right now to fix the loan originator status for 1-5 loans per year. H.R. 5287 is co-sponsored by my congressman, Denny Heck-Washington. Although it took over two years to get a bill into committee, it was a great accomplishment!
Tell us something fun about yourself
Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest, I am an avid boater. I owned my first boat in the sixth grade and have been on the water ever since.
What is your favorite book, and why?
Most anything written by Stephen King. Although I am not a fan of horror movies, I love his writing. My favorite of his is 11/22/63.
