It has been brought to our attention that there are multiple companies contacting our sponsors, claiming to represent the American Association of Private Lenders (AAPL) offering “assistance” with registration and hotel bookings.
The reported companies that are aggressively cold-calling and spamming companies whose names have appeared on AAPLConference.com pages are Global Travel Partners, Exhibitor Housing Management (EHM / ehmtravel.com) and Exhibition Housing (EHS / ehshousing.com), or Elite Expo (call back number: 877-858-9971.) This year, Global Travel Partners is using a document service, Right Signature. Right Signature has been notified of this scam and is investigating as well.
To be clear, these companies and others are NOT AFFILIATED WITH AAPL and are not authorized to use our name or trademark in any solicitations.
AAPL is working through the proper channels to stop the deceptive practices of these companies and apologize for their pesky behaviors.
Please be aware of the following known scams which we’ve heard about over the last week:
- No one should contact you directly to book your hotel room or offer you a “special discounted conference rate” or “can save you $30.00 off your room rate.” If you receive one of these calls or emails, it is a scam. They are not affiliating with AAPL.
- If you receive an email from documents about reservations from anyone but AAPL, Caesars Palace, or wherever you booked your accommodations please ignore this message. This company is not affiliated with AAPL.
- If you receive a phone call from someone wanting to speak to the “trade show coordinator or the person who is handling AAPL’s Annual Conference that your company is attending in November,” it is a scam and they are not affiliated with AAPL.
- If someone emails you claiming to be from AAPL’s Exhibitor Department, and the email is not from an aaplonline.com email address, do not share any information with them. The company is not affiliated with AAPL. There are three employees of AAPL. If you don’t hear any of our names it would be safe to assume it is a scam.
We strongly advise that you be cautious of working with any company that can offer you a run-of-house room at a Vegas hotel for less than the $165.00 per night plus tax and service that include; unlimited local calls, in-room high speed Internet each day, daily access to the fitness room that is completely refundable if cancelled up to 72 hours prior to arrival. Unless you’re OK with paying a booking fee to the company plus adhere to their stringent cancellation policies, with us not assisting you with any problems you may encounter with the terms of a third-party agreement (like not having a room upon arrival,) and working with any company with business listings like these:
