Committee Responsibilities

The following is a general outline of responsibilities and expectations for Committee members. Committees are advisory only; any final decision on a matter remains with AAPL leadership.

Background Requirements

Committee members are required to maintain an AAPL membership in good standing for the duration of their committee term. You do not need to have previous experience or specialization to serve on a Committee.

Meeting Attendance

Committee terms are two years, renewing every odd year. Members must attend a minimum of 75% of scheduled meetings to continue holding a committee position.

Committees may require ad-hoc meetings to address urgent matters. AAPL staff will do their best to provide as many options and as much notice as possible, with the expectation that Committee members do their best to accommodate and attend in these rare instances.

Initiative Planning & Execution
