Bill Fairman is not just a longstanding friend and AAPL member; he is also a best-selling author, national speaker, and seasoned entrepreneur with over 30 years of industry experience. His achievements include features in numerous magazines, several industry awards, and a deep passion for educating clients on creating legacies for future generations. In his co-authored book, “Drive to Success“, Bill highlights the inspiring journeys of entrepreneurs who triumphed over obstacles to achieve success. He says, “Relationships are the most important part of having a successful business, along with the understanding that you only fail when you fail to learn from your mistakes” (anyone else hear the motivational music in their head when they read that?)

How long have you been an AAPL member?

10 years.

What AAPL benefit do you MOST value?

Annual Conference and Certifications.

Why did you become a member?

Initially to get educated and network with other lenders and service providers. It was so beneficial to us that we kept the membership so we can give back to others what we received in the beginning.

What is your favorite AAPL memory?

My first meeting in November 2013, that’s where we met the company that helped us start our first fund and sent us on our path.

Why did you decide to enter the private lending profession?

I had been in the mortgage industry for 20+ years prior to the 2008 crash. After the crash, there was a need in the market for private lending as bank level financing was very tight.

What are some accomplishments you are particularly proud of?

We went from two of us and a part-time bookkeeper brokering other peoples SDIRA’s in a one room office to having two Reg D funds and 12 full-time plus remote staff in our own building.

What is your favorite book, and why?

“Extreme Ownership” by Jocko Willink.
