Fun Fact #1: Vermont, the 14th state admitted to the union in 1790, gets its name from “montagne verte” (French for green mountain) after the state’s gorgeous Green Mountains.

Fun Fact #2: We learned this because Jacob Therrien, a business development specialist at Bridge Loan Network, grew up around Vermont’s mountains. Those origins gave him an avid appreciation for hiking, snowboarding, golfing, and many other outdoor sports. Learn more about Jacob:

How long have you been an AAPL member?

Since 2018 when I joined the Bridge Loan Network team.

What AAPL benefit do you MOST value?

Being introduced to AAPL at their 9th Annual Conference [in 2018] and I instantly knew that the AAPL Organization, their staff, and their members would be a large part of our business for years to come. With that, the AAPL Annual Conference is by far the best conference we attend to network with new and established Private Lenders in the industry.

Why did you become a member?

To network with and learn from other members in the Private Lending Industry.

What is your favorite AAPL memory?

My favorite memory is both being nominated for and winning the AAPL Rising Star Award at the 10th Annual AAPL Conference in the fall of 2019. Being nominated by my peers in the industry is something I will never forget.

Why did you decide to enter the private lending profession?

I decided to join the private lending space right after college graduation because it is a growing industry with endless amounts of opportunity. Since joining the Bridge Loan Network team in 2018, I have been able to help create educational content for both our lender and broker partners, as well as travel to industry events, like the AAPL Annual Conference, to continue to grow my knowledge of this industry. The private lending profession has shown endless growth, and I am excited to see where it takes me.

What are some accomplishments you are particularly proud of?

One of the main accomplishments I am most proud of since joining Bridge Loan Network in its start-up stage is through the different marketing and business development techniques, we’ve executed to grow the business to a known technology provider in the private lending industry.

What is your favorite book, and why?

My favorite book is Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki. The book taught me a lot about financial literacy and the different ways to make your money work for you, as opposed to always working for money
